and my wife is blogging too? what next? twitter?
yes, she has become a blogger. Here is Dawn’s blog link.
Tis the season to get sick
Dawn and Alex are sick. Dawn has a sore throat and Alex has a mild fever with cold symptoms. I’m sure I’ll be catching something soon too. Tonight Dawn took a shower in the guest bathroom while got Alex a nice steam bath + a baby bath after. We broke out the humidifier last night.. thanks to Nolan and Amanda. Hopefully he’ll be feeling better soon so we can enjoy some family hikes through the Vermont fall foliage.
Alex turns 2 months, and red with pain
2 months ago, Alex came into the world and we have been blessed ever since. For his anniversary, he went to the doctors. Alex is now 24″ tall (90Ptile) and 12 lbs, 3 ozs (75Ptile). He also got his first round of immunization shots. We’ll it was very tough for Dawn and I to watch Alex get stuck with 3 needles. It was the first time I ever saw him turn beet red and scream without making a sound.. well, we heard him 5 seconds later. Not looking forward to the next doctor’s visit 2 months from now.
Labor Day Weekend Ends and the Work Week Begins
I had a great time with Dawn and Alex this weekend. Besides doing work around the house and futzing around with my new work laptop and my decrepit personal PC that won’t even run on Linux, we got out of the house. I already blogged about blueberry picking on Sunday. Saturday, we went to the Champlain Fair. Alex slept most of the time we were there. Here are some pictures:
We also ran into Alex’s friend Henry, who has no problem smiling on demand:
Today I took a quick bike ride, which was nice since it was the first time rode it all year long. I realized how out of shape I am on the last leg of the ride going up hill to the house.
I cleaned out the garage in preparation for the departure of summer and the arrival of the fall season. Both cars fit in again with the John Deere in between. We ended the day with a nice walk in the neighborhood with some stops along the way to talk with some of the neighbors which we have become close with. after that, we ate scallops and filet mignon from the grill, cleaned up, and gave Alex a bath.
Since then, Dawn and I did some prep work around the house to get ready for tomorrow morning. My lunch is all packed and I’m ready for work tomorrow AM. I think I’m going to go for another bike ride before work. Wednesday I’ll go back to the gym.
Some additional pictures I took that I’d like to share:
Blueberry and Nose Picking
Today Dawn and I went Blueberry picking
Alex came along for the ride.
I’m sure next year he’ll be running around in the blueberry fields stuffing his cheeks with berries making a mess out of is face and clothes.
So until then, Alex is working hard on his picking skillz, using his toes:
I have a Flickr account now. That means Pictures!
So I broke down and set up a Flickr account do to show off all the pictures Dan and I have. Lots of Alex from the past and more to come in the future.
If you don’t have a feed reader, I suggest you get one.. it is the best way to get updates on new content like when I post a new blog entry or when i post new pictures of Alex picking his nose with his toes.

sinus headache
I have not had a sinus headache like I did today in a long long time. This was like a “morning after I tried to drink like I was back in college” headache. It might have been a migraine because I almost vomited from the pain. I’m getting back to normal now, but it was a non-productive day.
